**Quad Alliance Advances Vision for a Secure and Prosperous Indo-Pacific**

New Delhi [India], May 21 (ANI) - External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar announced on Monday that the Quad alliance, comprising the United States, Australia, India, and Japan, is making significant strides in achieving its shared vision of a secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. The Quad's initiatives span clean energy, disaster relief, and health security, demonstrating their commitment to regional stability and cooperation.

In a recent post on X, Jaishankar emphasized the Quad's ongoing efforts and future plans. "Whether it's delivering clean energy, STEM talent, disaster relief, health security, or resilient communication infrastructure, the Quad is working towards realizing its shared vision of a secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific. Quad partners would continue to build on their achievements at the next Summit," Jaishankar stated.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also highlighted the Quad's accomplishments, noting improvements in internet connectivity, cyber security, and investments in STEM education across the region. "Since the Quad Leaders' Summit, the US, Australia, India, and Japan have made important strides to advance a free and open Indo-Pacific. The Quad has improved internet connectivity in the region, helped prevent cyber-attacks, and invested in the next generation of STEM leaders," Blinken posted on X.

The Quad Leaders' Summit, held earlier in 2023 in Hiroshima, marked the fifth meeting of leaders from the Quad nations, including U.S. President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This summit reinforced the Quad's commitment to an inclusive and resilient Indo-Pacific, addressing key regional challenges such as health security, climate change, infrastructure, and maritime security.

Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade outlined the Quad's positive and practical agenda, focusing on delivering outcomes that align with the Indo-Pacific region's priorities. The Quad's efforts are geared towards critical areas including emerging technology, cyber security, humanitarian assistance, space, countering disinformation, and counterterrorism.

Australia's High Commissioner to India, Philip Green OAM, recently addressed Quad membership during an event hosted by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in New Delhi. Green emphasized that there are no current plans to expand Quad membership, highlighting the importance of maintaining a clear and focused relationship framework with China.

As the Quad alliance continues to build on its achievements, the upcoming summit promises to further strengthen their cooperative efforts and advance their shared goals for a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
